From Silicon Valley to Munich, Axel has built his career at the intersection of technology and transformation. As CTO of Allianz Technology, he is reshaping Allianz's IT environment, fostering a technology culture, the concept of "tech craftsmanship," and new ways of working.

At the heart of his agenda is transforming Allianz into an AI-enabled organization. As CTO, Axel leads generative AI initiatives and enablement programs, such as AI Run, which involves more than 17,000 employees.

Previously, Axel served as CEO and president of Allianz Technology of America Inc. and was recognized as "CIO of the Year" in 2021 and "European Digital Leader of the Year" in 2023.
